SUNSCREEN
There are currently two types of nanoparticles being added to sunscreen; titanium dioxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO). Both of these have been used in sunscreen in order to aid in blocking UV rays from the sun, which can lead to skin cancer. A benefit to addng these nanoparticles in sunscreen is that they do not leave a heavy residue onto your face, but rather absorb and scatter light causing them to react transparent upon skiin. Compared to other UV filters, these nanoparticles allow lower re-application and are more stable. Similarily, they contain low-allergen compounds and do not irritate the skin.

COSMETICS
Many nanotechnology applications can be found in cosmetics. Nanostructured lipid carriers have been identified to assist in skin hydration. In addition, the popular cosmetics company, L'Oreal, "had used polymer nanocapsules to deliver active ingredients, e.g. retinol or Vitamin A, into the deeper layers of skin. In 1998 the company unveiled Plentitude Revitalift, an anti-wrinkle cream using nanoparticles"(7.5).
PAINTS
Nanotechnology was first introduced into paints with carbon nanotubes. These carbon nanotubes were used in teh coating in order to make teh color of the paint more brighter underneath various lighting settings. It also increases hardness, scratch, mould and bacteria resistance, easy clean, and resulting in a longer durability of the paints.

SPORTS
The sports activity that has been most affected by nanotechnology, the manipulation of objects to the nanometer scale, has been Tennis. This was possible becauseusing nanoparticles, a titanium weave was formed and later placed upon the head of the racquet. As a result, the tennis racquets become more stable adn durable.
